The Best of Édith Piaf

The Best of Édith Piaf

We don't know how the curators of this extensive release managed to assemble such a perfect collection of performances from Edith Piaf's 30-year career, but we're glad they did. Her silvery voice sends chills down our spine on both her French version of the ballad "Hymne à l'amour" and its English counterpart, "Hymn to Love," as well as the dual versions of her impassioned “La vie en rose.” And the defiant tone of Piaf’s 1962 performance of "Le droit d'aimer" burns like pure musical fire.
