11 Songs, 45 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

On That’s the Spirit, BMTH plays the extremes against one other. Their noisier metalcore takes a back seat to more alt-pop elements, but the band rocks as hard as ever. There’s a rah-rah vibe to the album's title, but these songs are anything but happy. And they write accessible hooks while screaming out lines like, "I’ll leave you chokin’/On every word you left unspoken.” It's in that dynamic—from the dubstep-tinged opener, “Doomed,” to the sarcastic cheerleader chant on "Happy Song" to the melodic rocker “True Friends"—that BMTH assert their huge arena-rock ambitions.

Matured

You didn't expect them to still keep that angry childish sound did you? No. They've grown and matured each album and it's sounding fantastic. Can't wait

Fan Girls, Hop Off

I miss the screams. I'm not gonna lie. I miss it. Oli is a decent singer. The riff for happy song got a little hope going but that quickly died when the vocals started. Throne I couldn't even get through the first 10 seconds. The synth over powers everything, it's horrid. Happy song was decent a good alternative rock song but nothing compared to past work. In order to really give this album a fair review you have to know their past work. Their past work is a million times better. The musicianship and lyricism are stellar, this is lackluster at best.
