Editors’ Notes Recording since 1997 without losing a shred of momentum, Atlanta alt-metal band Sevendust hit all the bases on their tenth studio album. They open full-bore with “Thank You,” establishing their thrash credentials right off. But before long they’re throwing curveballs: twisted beats in “Not Today”; back-porch country boogie in “Chop”; a staccato machine groove in “Silly Beast.” They keep up with metalcore and djent trends too. Yet, between nimble song intros and Lajon Witherspoon’s soulful roar, they do it with a rare subtlety.
