EDİTÖRLERİN NOTLARI

Recording since 1997 without losing a shred of momentum, Atlanta alt-metal band Sevendust hit all the bases on their tenth studio album. They open full-bore with “Thank You,” establishing their thrash credentials right off. But before long they’re throwing curveballs: twisted beats in “Not Today”; back-porch country boogie in “Chop”; a staccato machine groove in “Silly Beast.” They keep up with metalcore and djent trends too. Yet, between nimble song intros and Lajon Witherspoon’s soulful roar, they do it with a rare subtlety.

Once again I,ve been 'DUSTED

Another killer album from some of the most humble and incredible musicians in the business. Every song is a great ride, there is no filler. With each successive album you think that they have hit their stride and yet they continue to improve on the formula that has made them the great band that they are- solid riffs that are gritty and heavy, balanced with soulful vocals and harmonies that make for great songs. Death Dance, Kill the Flaw and Torched are immediate classic songs. This is their best effort yet and this CD will be on repeat for a very long time.

Not good

I’m a lifelong 7D fan. Since Clint returned to the band they’ve been overproducing the albums to death. Layers upon layers of background tracks filled with guitar. It totally takes away any sense of the heavy rhythmic guitar riffs. I understand a bands growth and maturity. You just can’t make band go back in time and write a tune like Denial, or Home. Animosity was probably the pinnacle of albums for me. Seasons was great, but the layered tracks started to sneak in there. Take a listen to Waffle and hear the heavy guitar riffs. Listen to any of the last three albums and the guitars have a tone that just blends with the bass and drums because they layer tracks behind it. It also seems like they over think writing…they work too hard on making time changes that will trick you up rather than keeping it simple and heavy. I bought the album, and will continue to buy their stuff…but this album, with the exception of a few moments in a couple tunes, is pretty much unlistenable. Nothing sticks…its just disposable music, not a Sevendust classic.
