One of the Best CDs I Ever Got!

This album represents an amazing and intriguing alternative to the mainstream/commerical rap scene, which is known by many for its current state of unoriginality, violence, sexism, homophobia, and materialism. Tha Truth's lyrics are full of intelligence, introspection, and a burning desire to see the world and hip hop evolve. He speaks of tolerance, creativity, diversity - and specifically themes such as Hurricane Katrina/New Orleans, opposing the Iraq war, the crisis in Darfur, and the environment. This album is an example of the latent power within hip hop... if artists can use their talent for a higher purpose. This CD is something that can be appreciated by very diverse audiences - from activists (young and old) - to young rap fans - to mid 90's rap golden age purists - to even fans of rock and other genres who appreciate music with powerful lyrics advocating for social justice for all humans! This album is also a must have for socially conscious music fans who enjoy artists like Public Enemy, The Roots, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, Anti-Flag, John Lennon, and Bob Marley. Tha Truth is a shining example of an artist utilizing his skills to help make the world a better place for all people and he deserves recognition and support!

Actually Authentic1 wrote an amazing review and I echo everything that reviewer said. There is some unnecessary conservative bashing that Jay (Tha Truth) admits he wouldn't do now that he is more mature. Nonetheless, a much needed album and a great addition to anyone's library.
