EDITORS’ NOTES

Eighteen months after If I’m Honest detailed a tough, tabloid-drenched year, Texoma Shore paints a delightfully upbeat portrait of Shelton’s newly peaceful state of mind. The album is billed as a nostalgic tribute to small-town Oklahoma (“I Lived It,” “At the House”), but it’s equally heavy on pinch-me moments inspired, purportedly, by a certain red-lipped lady (“Turnin’ Me On,” “Why Me”). He sounds ready to recreate the bucolic bliss from his childhood on Lake Texoma. “You and me with the same street name/Same last name, same everything,” he sings on the splendidly sappy “I’ll Name the Dogs.” “Laying next to you every night/Sounds like a damn good life.”

Sounds like a classic country sound...

This new Blake Shelton is hoprfully going to as roots as Carrie Underwood's latest Storyteller CD. I love the first single and music video, "I'll Name The Dogs" is such a great start off to hopefully a wonder new album. Country Muisc has been going in a more of pop music direction in recent years and there are many, mwany times I'm like, "Where is the banjo and fiddle?" Country Muisc has always been to me, about relatable lyrics on finding love, loss, God, and the heartaching and joyful moments of life. As a singer-songwriter and music lover myself, I only songs I can relate to on an emotional way, with meaningful lyric contact. Music by Mr. Shelton have always filled with Country Music at it's best lyrically and rootsy to the core since The Dreamer days and this upcoming album I'm sure will no different. Keep making Country Music great again Blake. :)

So excited!

If the rest of the album is anything like the lead single, "I'll Name the Dogs," this is gearing up to be one of Blake's best albums!
