Editors’ Notes Pearl Jam were still coming together as a band when they recorded their debut album Ten. Despite its multiplatinum success, the album never sat well with band members who felt it was too tight, too slickly produced, too vocal-heavy and with too much reverb. In the late 2000s, it was decided the early Pearl Jam albums would be revamped into anniversary editions to celebrate the band's years of service and producer Brendan O'Brien, who'd successfully produced the band's second album Vs. and all but three of their studio albums, was asked to re-mix Ten to the band's satisfaction. Surely, those who have committed every second of the original mix to memory will be surprised by the results, while objectively speaking, O'Brien's mixes are stronger with the reverb pulled back and Stone Gossard and Mike McCready's guitars brought up to match Vedder's vocals. The six bonus tracks include Gossard's "Brother" and early demos of "Just a Girl" and the two songs that found their way to the Singles movie soundtrack, "Breath and a Scream" and "State of Love and Trust."
