EDITORS’ NOTES
Across 11 albums, Weezer’s steady exploration of sounds and ideas has been anchored to their enduring commitment to indelible pop tunes. That approach stands firm on a set of virally catchy songs that begins with the crunchy, metallic riffs of “Mexican Fender,” and ends on the hearty strumming and upbeat harmonies of “Any Friend of Diane’s”. In between, Rivers Cuomo’s sighing meditations on love, loss, and The Beach Boys are dressed in rich fusions of rock, 21st-century R&B, and baroque pop, while the album’s greatest, grandest moment, “Sweet Mary,” is a gorgeous invocation of Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.

Ratings and Reviews
Why weezer?
This is basically a rivers solo project. Glad you could write a song about a guitar even if you don't use them anymore
There will never be another Pinkerton
And that's okay. Pinkerton was amazing, the blue album was amazing, but if people are still shocked by Weezer making poppier music, then they must not be listening to Weezer for the past 16 years. I'm looking forward to the direction Weezer is going with this album. The art is great, it's a short, but sweet album length, and the songs sound catchy so far. Yes this probably won't be there magnum opus, but that's okay.
What happened to Weezer?!
It sounds like what became of Fall Out Boy...a steaming pile of poo. Basic, easy filler songs to get the next record out.
