Continues to get better and better

Glen has been making incredible music for decades, both as part of Toad the Wet Sprocket (on eof the most underrated American rock bands), and as a solo artist. Swallowed by the New is one of the best from either Glen or Toad. The songwriting is sublime and Glen's voice has never been better. I encourage you to go see Glen live. It's such an intimate, beautiful experience. Excellent album!

All the feelings.

Glen Phillips is a lyrical genius. This is his most honest work to date.

This generation’s James Taylor

Glen Phillips, lead singer of Toad The Wet Sprocket, and accomplished solo artist for the past 2 decades, is back again with the Deluxe edition of Swallowed By the New. This is a collection of songs that helps the listener through a number of life transitions, be it divorce, death or loss. But these songs are not filled with blame or regret, but rather with curiosity and gratitude. The newest addition of the song Nobody’s Gonna Get Hurt, co-written with Lori McKenna, is a tale filled with lies, from the big ones (the earth is flat) to the subtle and small (I will always feel this way). I’ve always thought Glen was our generation’s James Taylor, with songs that are melodic, and introspective. This collection is his best solo work yet.
