Solid effort, but not his best

If you are introducing yourself to Bob, I would recommend starting with Silver Age, Workbook and Copper Blue. If you are a fan, there are some great moments on this one, including the colsing track "Western Sunset". I really enjoyed the appearance of strings on a couple of songs. However, most of the songs are just variations on a theme. A continuation of the last two records. If you like those records, then enjoy! Very good record, just not the most original.

Typically great

Classic Bob Mould. If the first single is any indication, this album will be another in a long line of great guitar-driven rock collections from one of the godfathers of grunge punk. Can’t wait for the whole album and tour.

Still doing his thing

Yep, it's another Bob mound album. That’s all you need to know about this one. Longtime fans will buy it, some people who have been living under a rock may discover it, but it’s nothing new or exciting, won't earn him many new fans, and won’t catapult him into discussions of artists who are still creative after all these years.
