Human and sublime

Once again I find myself both saddened and hopeful. These people are an absolute gift. Songs and moods that are brought with an absolute integrity and appreciation for what this life is. I live all kinds of music. The Innocence Mission has been not a refuge, but a challenge. To be brave enough to be beautiful. To be that sway, to be that note... Truly awesome and humble at the same time. Thank you Peris family.

I’m still in love

Yes I’m a “fan boy”. I have no shame in admitting it. There are very few bands that I still wait with bated breath to release new music. Since 1990, when I first heard Black Sheep Wall, I’ve followed Karen & Don & am never disappointed. Karen’s angelic voice still gives me chills & when combined with eloquent lyrics describing everyday life and exquisite guitar/piano the music is just amazing. It can still bring tears to my eyes. I love this band and always will. Whether its the Kate Bush-esque Wonder of Birds from their first album or A Thousand Miles from 2009’s Street Map or the breathtaking Galvanic from this album, I can never get enough. Please don't stop making music.

A Thing of Beauty

This is absolutely one of the most beautiful albums I have heard in years. Truly a thing of beauty from a group worthy of selling millions, but will continue to fly under the radar.
