Nickel: Stupid Thing

Smarter than their time, this band could have evolved into a "weezery-crowded-mouse" had they stuck around. Perhaps they will reunite and reclaim pop/rock for the next generation?

Meanwhile I have heard rumors about an newly emerging project from singer/songwriter Tom McDermott while bass player Bob Schmidt currently tours with Flogging Molly as the mandolin and banjo player. Clearly these men have talent... just listen to this album and tell me it's not burgeoning with unyeilded potential.

Buying this would not be a "Stupid Thing"

To be perfectly honest, I heard these guys on an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," when they played in their local club, "The Bronze." I was even more suprised when I saw them on iTunes, because they weren't exactly superstars. All that aside, this album is great for listening anytime. It's relaxing and introspective. 12 heartfelt tunes that make you say, "They sing like I think." It's a lot of songs about love, women, and dealing with the the first two things. It's a solid album, you won't be sorry.

US version of the Squeeze

They should have made it. Thoughtful lyrics, tight songs. Forever Stunned and Stupid Thing are stand outs although the whole CD is solid.
