Stuck In My Ways

Stuck In My Ways

Though Finesse2tymes’ 2025 effort, Stuck in My Ways, arrived just four months after 2024’s Art of War, he feels inclined to offer an updated portfolio, to make clear exactly what he stands for. On opener “I’m Back,” he employs his signature double-time flow, injecting his gravelly voice with melodic tics—marrying two of the South’s signature rap styles in a unique way. The Memphis spitter barrels over a vocal chop and bouncing 808s to plant his flag firmly in the ground: “Don’t even come in my perimeter,” he warns. Elsewhere, like on “I Was Cappin,” he brings a humor and lightness to tales of grinding away on the streets, cooking up quotable metaphors to illustrate how the gig has changed, but the purpose remains the same: “You talkin’ money, you speakin’ my language/I don’t need Rosetta,” he raps. Don’t believe him? The chorus doubles down: “They say it’s money on my head, let me know and I’ma double that shit.”
