12 Songs, 43 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

On their fifth album, We the Kings fold infectious dance pop into their trademark blend of emo, punk, and indie. There are still plenty of big guitars, but they’re intertwined with silky synthesizers and propulsive grooves. It’s a great fit for Travis Clark, whose supple vocals drip with yearning and romance on the swaying anthems "Completely" and "From Here to Mars." Sparks fly when he teams up with the alluring singer Elena Coats for "XO," an arresting fusion of trip-hop and alternative pop.

Jenny's song

I wish more of the songs were acoustic like Jenny's song. They've changed a lot since their older stuff, more mainstream and radio type music. Travis has a great voice

whoa, is this different!

This doesnt even sound like We The Kings. The first song is recanned pop from a bad boy band. I sure hope their songs improve with the subsequent releases or this may be the first album I actually skip getting which would be a disappointment since I like them.

Heartbroken. Again.

I don't know what happened to the band I loved. I had hoped that this album would not be a repeat of the last album. I was wrong. What happened to the awesome lyrics, the actual instruments, and the heart (ironic album cover) of this group of people. I have actually lost sleep thinking about the band they used to be and how disappointed I am with their newer sell-out pop. I hate to be "that guy," but where is the We The Kings we used to love? Where's the "All Again For You"? The "August is Over"? The "Anna Maria"? I am heartbroken again over their new style. 😥
