Everyone should see this film

Yes, on one level this is a feel-good film. The triumph of hard work and the human spirit. And the power of these young African-American women and the people who help them find their dreams. At another level, however, this is a powerful statement about the odds and about how hard those who do not have the benefit of affluence in any form must work, and that's leaving aside the (massive) issue of race. I found this film extraordinary, really. I will watch it again, for sure. And I will be playing that Cynthia Erivo song, "Jump" in the days ahead.
