EDITORS’ NOTES

After grinding on the mixtape circuit for many years Houston MC Paul Wall finally went nationwide in 2005, lighting up the charts with a run of hit singles and dropping his excellent major-label debut The People's Champ. In the years since, the country's once-unquenchable thirst for everything Houston rap-related has waned somewhat, but he's persevered and thrived, releasing two decent follow-ups, Get Money, Stay True and Fast Life. On this, his fourth go-around, he pretty much sticks to the script, with catchy beats galore, chopped-and-screwed hooks, party-time rhymes, and plenty of features from the usual H-Town suspects, including Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, and Lil Keke, as well as more surprising collaborators like Bay legend Andre Nickatina and bloggers' favorites Kid Sister and Jay Electronica. Travis Barker lends his hand at production, and their group Expensive Taste is also highlighted on "Not My Friend." Key tracks include "Smoke Everyday" with Devin the Dude and Z-Ro, plus "Im'ma Get It" with Bun B.
