12 Songs, 40 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

After three years of singles, progressive electro-rock trio Go the Rodeo's debut, Lekker Chilled, reflects how they like to do things—at a slow and steady pace. A seamless blend of indie-rock and electronic elements, vocalist Corne van Niekerk developed the majority of this 12-track album in his bedroom. The group’s downtempo tracks ("Sea Dog”, ”Vultures") hit a radio-friendly sweet spot with Twenty One Pilots-inspired licks and minimalist electro stylings. But the band also wades deeper into alternative waters while collaborating with Our Last Night's Matt & Trevor Wentworth ("Glass Walls") and Hellcats' rip-roaring guitarist Warwick Rautenbach ("Never C Ur Face Again").
