Greatest Hits

Greatest Hits

This collection focuses on the period when ZZ Top started trading some of their boogie-rock swagger and bluesy grit for a sleeker, more highly produced approach. When they started incorporating electronics into their sound on '80s smashes like "Legs" and "Sleeping Bag," the veteran Texas trio earned a whole new audience. But while Greatest Hits doesn't include much from the band's early albums, it does feature the most iconic tunes from the Top's blues-rock era: the marvelously mud-encrusted, John Lee Hooker–esque "La Grange" and the slide guitar-slashed shuffle "Tush." Adding two new tracks broadens the album's appeal even further.
