17 Songs, 53 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Their sharpness and soul made PTX one of the most popular and well-known a cappella groups outside of The Barden Bellas. The vocal quintet takes a creative leap forward here—crafting originals with the same energy, detail, and richness that made their cover songs so beloved. “Sing” and “Na Na Na” show that PTX are pop maestros, creating magic with just voice, handclaps, and beatbox. They float effortlessly between styles—“Misbehavin’” takes its cues from doo-wop, “Ref” can fit in with any EDM set, and “First Things First” feels like a lost Timbaland track. To close the album, PTX include their takes on pop hits “Where Are Ü Now,” “Cheerleader,” and “Lean On.”

Heart, Soul, and Originality

PTX has already proven that they're more than just a talented cover group with inspired originals like Love Again, Run to You, On My Way Home, and That's Christmas to Me. Can't Sleep Love is the first track released from their upcoming self-titled album composed of all-original work. Its catchy tune, smooth harmonies, and playful backing vocals provide a balanced blend of musicality and pop appeal. This groundbreaking a capella group has certainly put their best foot forward with an enticing preview of the good things to come on Oct. 16.

👍👎

Great album overall, a ton of hot jams. My only complaint is on the distribution of lyrics-I feel like it's more Scott ft. Pentatonix than anything.

Nice!

I really like this album. The sound is great. The only real complaints that I have are that at times it feels like the Scott show, and some of the songs (Rose Gold in particular) are so over-produced that you can't even tell that it's the other members voices providing the backing vocals. Or maybe you guys are so good that it only sounds like you've been auto-tuned. Either way, really like the album.
