21 Songs, 1 Hour 20 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Repping for North Carolina and Jamla Records, Rapsody has been making moves for a while now. After starting with the group Kooley High, she went solo and released several impressive mixtapes, including Rapsody Replay, Return of the B-Girl, Thank H.E.R. Now, and For Everything. Championed by both 9th Wonder and DJ Premier, she released her debut studio album, The Idea of Beautiful, in 2012, earning props from critics and heads alike. She Got Game is a 21-track mixtape that sounds better and more cohesive than many artists' official albums. Rapsody shines on the mic along with a diverse group of guests such as Styles P ("The Pressure"), Phonte and Jay Electronica ("Jedi Code"), Big K.R.I.T. ("Lonely Thoughts"), Nipsey Hussle ("Never Know"), and Raheem DeVaughn ("Caught Up"). Proving that you don't have to be a supermodel or super freak to get attention as a female emcee, she relies on raw skills and continues to get better every time out.
