The debut album by Jackson, Tennessee native Ash Bowers is a raucous set of country tunes aimed directly at the honky tonk music fan. Bowers is part of the current Nashville generation that isn't afraid to mix some hard-rock guitars into the twang, and has a particular knack for sing-along choruses and fist-pumping riffs. The rural pride of first single "Red" and working-class heroism of the title track feel personal and lived-in, while the small everyday details in the lyrics of the suspenseful, slow-burning "Justice" reveal Bowers's gift as a country storyteller.
