DB II has his mojo all the way back.

There are rich, heartfelt tracks with great depth to me that I adore on “Rich Man” and tracks that missed the mark a bit, possibly because of personal turmoil. Shades is a superior work overall lyrically and vocally. Someone mentioned this was a mature work and it is and that’s a great thing. Vocally he’s better than ever and that’s impressive. He’s technically at his peak and emotionally, he’s never been better. It seems he’s in a better place these days. God bless him and God his fans.

Where’s the jelly cream

Nicely produced and solid sound but not the edge like jelly cream had more like a a good bourbon on the rocks gotta take small sips and let it play through to get the true flavor

Heart & Soul, not just a blues record (not that there's anything wrong with that). It's a deep journey into heartfelt American music. Doyle's playing is at its best and this is the logical bookend to his Rich Man record a few years back.
