13 Songs, 46 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Doom and dysfunction follow Theory of a Deadman like dark clouds across the tracks of Scars and Souvenirs. Tracks like “So Happy,” “Bad Girlfriend” and “Crutch” find Connolly still raking ex-friends and lovers over the coals until their juices sizzle. “Hate My Life” extends this free-floating anger into a wider commentary upon societal breakdown.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

They've Done it Again!

Theory of a Deadman is one of my favorite bands. Hate My Life is my favorite song on the CD, just because it's fun to listen to, and it's hilarious. The other songs are all great works of art, with meaningful lyrics and a bada*s southern attitude. I've listened through the CD about 12 times since I bought it, now I'm going to wait a week and see which ones sink in. Seriously though? If you're a fan of the music, you need this album.

Theory's evolution continues

It is fantastic to see a band become better with each new realease and Theory has done just that. Although the albums before this were full of great tracks, especially their last release, the songs on Scars feature better musical composition then most other albums in this genre and are full of great lyrics, both fun and meaningful. The album is easy to listen to in one sitting and frequently finds play time during my long iTunes sessions. The songs reflect exactly what the album title says and I often find their lyrics connecting with some of my own experiences. If you have a chance to pick up the whole album, then go for it. If you want to pick and choose between the songs, then you won't be disappointed with any choice. This is definitely one of the most pleasing experiences I have had with a rock album in the last few years.
