11 Songs, 48 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

The third album from the Texas Americana duo of Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance is easy enough to listen to—bright harmonies, acoustic guitars, hooky choruses, rich storytelling—but there's an underpinning of anxiety and disquiet. From the self-explanatory opening “Crazy World (Judgement Day),” which openly wonders if a societal reckoning is due, to the chilly cover of The Mamas & The Papas' “California Dreamin'” and its spiritual companion, album closer “Winter's Lament,” there is a sense of longing that belies the genial musical mood. The latter borrows the line, “I feel summer creepin' in,” from Tom Petty's “Mary Jane's Last Dance,” capturing the collision of the hopeful and the ominous that permeates the album.

As the review title implies, this album is extremely tight and unbelievably awesome. I would advise anyone who doesn’t love it to get your hearing checked because something is clearly amiss in your auditory region. Honestly, I love this record. It’s great. But don’t take my word for it – listen, buy, share, be cool.

Amazing

Utah is one of my all time favorite albums! This.Is.Stunning. Their voices/harmonies literally melt into my ears. Don’t get my wrong, I enjoyed Education of a Wandering Man, but this album brings me back to why I love them in the first place. Greta job.

Another excellent album

Jamestown Revival has been a favorite of mine for a while now and every album they release has great songs, tight harmonies and a sound all their own. They’re also amazing live and just down to earth, awesome artists. I cannot recommend them enough. Everyone I have ever introduced to their music absolutely loves them.
