Exciting Score for a Non-Stop Film

James Newton Howard does a pretty good job with this score - not as amazing as his collaboration with Zimmer for the Dark Knight, but nonetheless an exciting score that helps move the film along (although it moves quite quickly on its own.) I like the fact that Howard is able to mix the fast-paced tracks with the more emotional ones that parallel Salt's flashbacks, providing an emotional layer (if thin) to the film. Overall, the music is good, the action in the movie itself is entertaining, and Jolie is quite good in her title role. Finally a movie where, as Angelina apparently wanted, "Bond" is a woman. But enough about the movie itself - this score is good, and definitely worth the $10 for 21 songs. Personal favorites are the first and last tracks - Prisoner Exchange and Go Get Em - but I like the rest of them as well. Thanks, iTunes, for selling a score that I have yet to find anywhere else!

One of Angie's Best!

I got to see an Advanced Screening of this movie, and it was one of the best action movies I've seen in a long time! The Score for the movie was very well-done and deserves a few praises at least! Great Score and Great Movie with a Kick-Butt Actress!

Who is Salt? Who is Newton?

Salt is a good film full of suspense, which I liked. The incredible as the Bad Guy in the movie also is the good guy, as is the case with Angelina Jolie in the movie. But I'm not here to do a review of the film, but yes, it's score. Well, James Newton Howard has enchanted me with many Scores as 'Defiance', 'The Tourist', 'The Dark Knight' ..., and this was one of the Scores that really showed all the talent of Howard to create the music for the film. Actually, Howard is perfect. I always thought he was good only when Hans Zimmer is helping him. But I was wrong. Congratulations!
