EDITORS’ NOTES

Forward-facing Italian alt-classical musician Ludovico Einaudi incorporates both cinematic and literary aspects into his memorable, atmospheric pieces. Einaudi earned a degree in composition from the Milan Conservatory, so the Turin native brings a broad knowledge and deep appreciation of the European classical canon to his contemporary aesthetic and film and TV scoring. Literature is part of the family business. His father was an editor; Einaudi has based his projects on works by writers including Virginia Woolf and, for In a Time Lapse, Henry David Thoreau. “Time Lapse” percolates in a primordial electronic fog before a rush of piano, carefully placed electric guitar lines, and sustained strings arise. “Discovery at Night” carries the melodicism of ‘70s piano-based adult rock, while “Waterways” manages to capture the constant flow of water through a gentle synthesized bass drum. Violinist Daniel Hope solos on “Life,” “Orbits,” “Experience,” and “Underwood.”

Most moving ever

I hope "Brother" gets fixed and we get an option to download the corrected cut. It is cut off a bit and it is a powerful song. So sad.

Worth EVERY Single Penny!

This is my favorite from all of his works. Time Lapse, Life, and Waterways are simply gorgeous. Buy this entire album, it is worth every penny. If you're a fan of Josh Kramer (especially Afterglow) or Dustin O'Halloran, you won't be disappointed with this fantastic collection. Not to mention, 19 tracks - what a great deal!

Tremendous respect for Ludovico!

Ludovico is indescribable. I have loved his music for years; he captures emotions that cannot be expressed in words and puts them in music! I Giorni, Nightbook, Una Mattina, Divenire.... All masterpieces! This new addition is equally amazing and I cannot wait until I can spend some time to truly sit down and listen to it! I would highly recommend all of his music. Just take time to really listen to it and believe me, you will not regret it! I am so glad he is still making music, incredible talent that will be forever loved!!!
