Lonely Boy Remix worth it.

I am a die hard Black Lab fan. I was so super excited when my brand new CD came and a little upset when I started to listen to it. I was surprised that this was a CD BL had put out. It reminded me of other bands like VAST and Celldweller. Not saying that those are bad comparisons, they're fabulous bands, but their music is not what I expected the new BL CD to sound like.
That being said... upon more and more listens, the CD has grown on me. The Lonely Boy Remix takes that song to a completely different level. It is masterful. That is the only word I can think of to describe that piece of musical genius.
Although I may not grab this whenever I'm in the mood for some BL, their musical expertise has been put to the test. I'd think they passed...

amazing sidestep

It's amazing for a band to put out a disc like this that completely challenges everything else they've previously done. The songs here are great, and really help flesh out the BL discography. (Don't worry, all you electronica haters, the band's already said this is not where they are going to keep going with their sound!) Extra kudos to "Ghost In The Machine" where we finally get to hear Andy on lead vocals!

i tried really hard

Well its 5am and i just recieved my blacklab fanmail letter from paul letting me know Blacklab has relesed yet another album.......a Techno album

I couldnt believe it when i read it..Paul goes on to say although you may not be a huge techno fan you will still enjoy this...

The problem is ..i agree with him but its just so hard to find that so so beutiful replay value and emotional attachement i have to all of blacklabs other music..

Passion leaves a trace was a beautiful album and i loved every aspect of pauls wonderful vocals and songwriting..ad although ive been a fan of more upbeat blacklab songs ex."see the sun" "Perfect Girl" i just cant say that theres anything in a techno blacklab song that makes me want to hear it twice..

With that said i will still admit that blackLab is my Forite band in the world..and thats an unerstatement..they had me as #1 fan since i saw them on our lady peace clumsy tour....but please paul and andy.. give me more of those beautiful songs.. i know this is not a permanant change...ill even accept some remakes of.."play with me(like fire). Or "Hole in the sky" what happened to those songs plus 5 more i could list..all amazing!!!!

I would recomend this for an avid techno fan but not a true true blacklab fan.....

p.s--Dont hate me guys!! just a honest review! Neil-N18
