Haunting, Emotional, and Extraordinary

This small, lesser known band have really carved out a special notch in my heart. Their music is a perfect cocktail of sadness, relaxation, and soul. This album is no different. Every lyric is written with thought and emotion and it comes through so beautifully in each song. The album starts you out with the toe-tapping “a couple days” and “light on the ground” but very quickly pulls you back into a deep thoughtful sadness with “beautiful birds flying”. Not only is this album impressive with its unique tone, but from a pure musicians stance as well. I found myself making an audible “wow” in my car as I listened to some of the riffs and guitar work. Complicated chord progressions and fingerings give the dark, melancholy tone of the music a real edge that I haven’t found anywhere else. It’s my opinion that this band is criminally underrated. This album is a work of art, and deserving of a listen. The musicians here are extremely talented, boasting an expert guitar player as well as some saxophone thrown in. It really comes through in “planted in tall weeds”. In short, if you’re looking for songs to stare out a window on a rainy day to, look no further.
