certainly not Quorthon's best, but worth your money

I like the entire album songwriting-wise, but the production and the vocals do not sound very good. If you want to get good Bathory, I would buy their first four albums before this. Still, I would get this if you feel that you can get past the production.

Utter destruction

I can't say this is an enjoyable album, but Requiem is a pummeling album and features some of the most intense vocals you'll ever hear. Quorthon must have been channeling devils in the studio when he recorded those. This is definitely not for everyone, but it's worth hearing, especially if you're into very old-school grind and brutal, brutal thrash.

Brutal

This is some of the most brutal, basic black metal you will ever hear, and with pretty good production. Blood and Soil is my current favorite, and, I admit, I like the vocals. The whole album is raw, churning metal; any fan of the genre would enjoy it.
