The singer follows 2025’s PÓRTATE BIEN with storytelling mastery. Having sufficiently surpassed his substantial career as a songwriter for others, Armenta now thrives as a certified star and core figure of the contemporary corridos vanguard. Less than a year after dropping his full-length debut, PÓRTATE BIEN, he returns with renewed energy on RENACER. Judging by the subject matter of songs like “3 NOCHES” and “DESPUÉS DE AMARTE,” success still comes with its fair share of ups and downs. As a lyricist, he retains a storyteller’s mastery of his chosen genre, evident on evocative, narrative-driven tracks like “MURAKAMI.” Yet one can’t help but hear him broadening his reach further via the norteño influence on “QUE MANERA.” Not surprisingly, several of his fellow Street Mob Records associates show up to support. These in-house team-ups—like the fiendishly persuasive “COSAS DEL DIABLO” with Calle 24, or the remorse-laden “MI LOQUERA” with the notoriously mischievous Chuyin—only serve to shine a brighter light on Armenta’s own immense talents. The same can be said for his songs “UN LEÑO” with Chino Pacas and “DE NUEVO” with Jorsshh, both of which together provide stark contrast as relationships go from promising to disastrous. Beyond those in his immediate orbit, other guests here include high-powered hitmakers Tito Double P, who brings genuine heart to the jet-setting joint single “YO NO TE OLVIDO,” and Gabito Ballesteros, who relatably enables the evasive self-destructive tendencies behind “PERRA MADRE.” By the closing moments of the heartbroken “MIENTRAS TE BESA” with Robertito Salas, one can’t help but feel as though Armenta has so much more to offer his listeners going forward.
