British reggae outfit UB40’s penchant for picking the perfect cover is well known and decisively proven by their classic take on Neil Diamond’s “Red Red Wine.” A particularly relaxed read of the song appears on Unplugged, along with a groovy version of rocksteady classic “Cherry Oh Baby.” Longtime vocalist Ali Campbell’s quiver remains intact, as he reveals in his duet with daughter Kaya on the lilting “I Got You Babe.” They even turn power ballad “Purple Rain” into a hip-swaying sing-along.
