Simply Immaculate

Anybody who thinks that Horowitz owns the Rachmaninoff Sonata No.2 has not heard Helene Grimaud play it. Much greater than her more recent recording of this Sonata, Helene Grimaud plays with endless energy, power, and accuracy combined with the maturity and sensitivity of a very old soul. This is the greatest recording of the Sonata No.2 by Rachmaninoff that I've ever heard. The Etudes Tableaux Op.33 are jaw dropping and brilliant. Recorded while currently enrolled in the Paris Conservatory, her teachers must have been on her like white on rice!
