A collection of New Wave instrumentals, quite lovely.

Once upon a time in the 80s, Pink Floyd's Nick Mason and 10CC's Rick Fenn decided to write some stuff together. And create a record label. For worse or better, this release is the only thing that came out of the short-lived project.

Profiles consists almost entirely of New Wave instrumentals, with a lengthy 3 parter title track, and two songs thrown in there to keep everyone happy. The words for them were written by Danny Peyronel, who sang on "Israel". David Gilmour gives us the pleasure of hearing his voice on "Lie for a Lie".

This is a very lovely album, if you are not an avid hater of all things that come from the 80s. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is a lack of variety... but that's just me. Maybe you'll like it more than I did.

P.S. Not sure why it had to be "remastered". I own the original 1985 CD release (US only) and I must say it sounds identical (with the exception of one tiny audio error they fixed here).

Ohhh, the vinyl died long ago but I remember this from way back. A great mix of instrumental styles that still holds up.

Definitely one of the best mostly- instrumental albums I've heard!! Truly a hidden, overlooked gem.
