Phillip Todd ,

Al Stewart /Live/ Indian Summer

This was a double album released in late 1981 and in fact, side one of disc one is not live but has five studio tracks. Here In Angola, Pandora, Indian Summer, Delia's Gone and Princess Olivia were recorded at Evergreen Studios in L.A. the Summer of '81. The rest of the album was recorded live at the Roxy in the Spring of '81. It is a great album and is a bargain at 11.99.

YEA!!

I got this album in a cut file back in the 80's. I always like the Al Stewart tracks, like Year of the cat, so I took a chance on this live album. It is worth it!!!!!

This live version of On the Border is crisp, tense, and full of mysery and intrigue. The best. Peter White's guitar rings strong and cool The Clarence Frogman story is very funny. Very good treatment of the epics: Roads to Moscow and Nostradamus. Like many here, I also bought this as a 2 album set, when I was in high schoo. Al is the best but this may be for us die hards. To become a new fan of Al, try Famous Last Words or 24-Parrots. My favorite is Between the Wars...brilliant. But this is THE live Al album for all time. Masterful.
