Carly examines intimacy

Most of the songs (including in my opinion the best songs) on Playing Possum are about trying to get closer to someone you love. “After The Storm” and “Look Me In The Eyes” seem to address the closeness we look for after and during intimate moments; “Slave” examines the fear of losing yourself in your desire to be closer to another. The most successful single was “Attitude Dancing”; I believe “Waterfall” was also a single. Another favorite is “Love Out In The Street”; each time the chorus repeats it gets fuller and richer sounding. This song is just a little too left of center to have been a hit, but with some tinkering could have been. This one is a grower - repeated listening has increased my appreciation.
