My favorite UFO album

Phenomenon may not be UFO's heaviest album, but it has always been my favorite. I love practically every song on it and think the acoustic numbers like Crystal Light and Time On My Hands are about as good as the heavy songs, like Oh My and Doctor Doctor. Of course the highlight is Rock Bottom, which reminds me of Rush's Working Man in the fact they are both long but exciting guitar showcases. Yes, guitarist Michael Schenker plays his butt off all over this album and he would improve dramatically on later albums. Kudos also to vocalist Phil Mogg, who sounds great here. In terms of songs and production, this is easily my favorite UFO album. Gotta love the silly album cover by Hipgnosis, too.

Teenager thinks he is an adult

So many awesome records were made in 1974, it’s astounding.
When I made cassette tapes of songs on this record and gave them to girls I liked in 1982 it didn’t work out, I’m a dork and their dads didn’t like it or me.
All the older kids with Camaros Firebirds and Baracudas were playing this on their Concord cassette head units, already an 8 year old album getting play in So. Cal all the time.
Confiscated and kept by those girls dads because it rocked and their dads were dumbfounded with own enjoyment.

This is Brittish PG13 rock and roll, mix of blunt and funny, and brilliant and tonally beautiful with some r&b chunky well marinated parts. MSG get it
