EDITORS’ NOTES

One of the greatest albums of the rock era, Brian Wilson's masterpiece is a transcendent musical touchstone. "God Only Knows,” “Wouldn't It Be Nice,” and "Sloop John B" are evergreens in his band's repertoire. This album's resiliency has defied efforts to musically deconstruct it, which is as it should be. Peek into the fragile and wistful soul of Brian Wilson—and the hopeless, wounded romantic in us all.

Brilliant album- wrong mix

I don’t think that the stereo mix, made in 1996, should be presented as the “official” version of Pet Sounds and I think it’s wrong that this version is the first one that comes up when you search for the record. The stereo mix is fine and nicely made, but there are a few notable differences from the original version. It seems revisionist to present this as having been released in 1966. Brian’s original mono mix should be front and center here.
