If the Beastie Boys’ staggeringly ambitious Paul's Boutique wasn't widely embraced at first (and it wasn’t), it’s only because it was light-years ahead of its time. Bits of movie dialogue, hardcore punk, disco breaks, classic rock, porn samples, bong rips, The Beatles—it all got thrown into the mix, and the results are nothing short of jaw-dropping. The trio's raps, meanwhile, are as supercharged as the Dust Brothers' production, with more obscure references and in-jokes than, well, "Jamaica got mangos." Hit play and brace yourself.
