Though Shoreline Mafia released only one major-label album, 2020’s Mafia Bidness, the LA-based rap group’s influence helped shape the modern iteration of West Coast hip-hop alongside peers like 03 Greedo, the late Drakeo the Ruler, and Bay Area crew SOB x RBE. Since the members of Shoreline went their own way, the group’s de facto leader, OhGeesy, has continued to evolve the LA street sound that has inspired rising stars like Rucci and bona fide icons like Kendrick Lamar alike. On Geesy’s 2025 effort, Paid N Full, he keeps that sound consistent while aiming for mainstream crossover appeal. He returns to his roots, though, on “HEAT STICK,” which finds him reuniting with Shoreline bandmate Fenix Flexin for a throwback that recalls OhGeesy’s early days in the game.
