It is hard to believe this is the same band!

I had to keep playing it over and over to realize this was still the same band that released A Constant Sea. There are a couple of tracks that repeat that awesomeness here, but even they can't hold a flame to the likes of Moonlite, or any of the others.

Awful. Just Awful

I was pretty stoked to hear Heliotropes released a new album. That feeling was short lived when the album started playing. It seems like they took a page out of the 50's slow dance scene for this album. It is NOTHING like their wildly successful and highly regarded debut album "A Constant Sea". While it flirts with the old sounds on a couple tracks, it is heavily outweighed with this slow dance garbage. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that 3/4 of the original band have been replaced with three hipster dudes. Who knows?

I found myself skipping to the next track a lot. Overall, this album as a whole is a forgettable shell of their previous one. I'm evermore grateful for streaming services such as Tidal and Apple Music where people can sample the whole album before they buy it because this album is not worth half of what they're charging. Try again, Heliotropes
