I've been waiting for this to show up in iTunes just so I could write a review. I'm so impressed by this, even knowing what Zoë is capable of. She seems to effortlessly find simplicity from the complex, merging layers and loops to form timeless songs. The style is so well balanced between classical and modern that it's accessible to anyone, but offers a depth that lets you dive in and find new things each time. This is an amazing record, and an absolute must-have!

Beautiful, warm, complex

Another really wonderful piece of work by Zoe Keating. Her mastery, not only of her instrument, but the recording, production and arranging process continue to evolve. Since all the sounds on this album (even percussion) come from a cello (layered into her recording process) it really shows that in the hands of a very gifted player that has imagination and technical insight, the cello is an extremely versatile and emotive instrument.

This album is fantastic!

Zoë Keating has created another album full of lush and emotional cello instrumentals. Her music is ambient enough to play in the background as you work, as well as rich and intricate enough to spend 51 minutes doing nothing else but listening. Every track is beautifully composed, and the live version of "Optimist" testifies of Zoë's incredible talent. Buy this album. You won't regret it.
