Excellent Album at a Very Nice Price

This is a very good album by Burton Cummings. It has a kind of a techno vibe throughout. Not a bad song here and a few real gems. The kind of album that you sing along with. As far as I know, the cd is out of print and very hard to find, so the $9.99 tag is a surprisingly reasonable price. If you are a BC fan, buy it now.

A strong effort

This 1990 release was only sporadically available as a high-priced import, and it disappeared from the shelves in a hurry. It's a shame, because Burton is in unusually strong form here. His post-Guess Who releases were maddedingly erratic, usually mixing well-worn cover tunes with half-baked originals and a propensity for sappy ballads in an attempt to appease radio programmers who wanted another "Stand Tall". By comparison, on Plus Signs the songs are mostly original, and the album stays consistently rocking for the most part. This collection was recorded shortly after Burton cleaned up his long-standing drug & alcohol problems that kept him sidelined during the 80s. His voice holds up well here despite having lost some of his high range, and the production is crisp, with lots of big drums & synths to bolster the sound.
