Editors’ Notes Cults broke in 2010 with “Go Outside,” a sweet, slightly eerie piece of dream pop that split the difference between indie cool and mainstream appeal. Mixing triumphant, ’80s-style synth-pop (“Offering”) with aching torch songs (“With My Eyes Closed”) and a touch of psychedelia (“Recovery”), Offering is a gorgeous, gently melancholic album that builds on—and betters—2013’s Static, proving the band’s spark is still hot.
