Love Her

Found this beauty on Youtube about 4 years ago. Been a fan ever since. Saw her first show in Los Angeles. She is one hell of a drummer. And once she smiles your hooked. Just got her first CD and so far loving it.

Really solid prog album

I first became a fan of Meytal Cohen from her YouTube videos where she posted note-for-note drum covers of various metal songs. As time went on, she developed some insane chops, and eventually covered songs like Aenima, Eyeless, and Painkiller. And then, she started posting some really exciting original music, eventually releasing it as this album.

I’ve been listening to this album for a month now, and it is really good. Guitar, bass, drums, and vocals are all skillful, and the tunes are catchy. It’s one of the better albums I have heard in the last year.

The songs are definitely progressive rock, featuring non-standard time signatures, time changes, and polyrhythms, but as with the best prog bands, it is done so effortlessly that you don’t really notice until you listen closely.

I know that Meytal Cohen had to self-release this album in order to not get robbed by the record company she was negotiating with. Despite that, this is a very professional and very good album. It deserves to be widely heard.
