Nothing Is Impossible
After a well-received series of live releases, this dynamic ensemble returns to the studio for Nothing Is Impossible, a set dominated by melodic, ‘80s-influenced rock tracks. Within these sonic boundaries, the group manages to touch upon a variety of styles under the guidance of singer/songwriter/producer Henry Seeley. Thunderous uptempo tracks like “Bring It On” and “Song of Victory” offer praise with heroic fervor, while “Sound of Praise” takes a jittery new-wave tack and “Running to You” flows with a tuneful California rock ambiance. The album’s title track is spurred on by fluttery Edge-style guitar and boosted by the guest vocals of gospel star Israel Houghton. Especially well done is “No One Like You,” a boy-band style tune rendered with sumptuous harmonies. Planetshakers return to a live format with the closing number “We Cry Out,” a swaying, slowly unfolding call to worldwide ministry. Fans of Hillsong, the Parachute Band and similar praise outfits will find Nothing Is Impossible to be a spirit-stirring experience.
