These talented French sisters give us their take on Vivaldi’s ever-popular The Four Seasons, music they have known and loved since childhood. Taking two seasons apiece, they play with wonderful vibrancy and freshness, always alive to the concertos’ rhythmic inventiveness, but also to the spirit that makes this music evergreen. With the duo joined by a small ensemble, this is delicious playing, and to emphasize The Four Seasons’ relevance to every age, they give us a trio of songs inspired by Vivaldi as well as an imaginative little piece of their own, “Falling,” based on the slow movement of “Spring.” Delightful.
