Nobody Safe

Nobody Safe

Atlanta’s Rich The Kid and Baton Rouge’s YoungBoy Never Broke Again have very little in common stylistically, which is one reason their Nobody Safe project works so well. Another is that they have everything in common topically. Throughout the album’s 15 tracks, Rich’s hysteric and charmingly mush-mouthed raps strike a perfect balance against YoungBoy’s wounded howl as the two go back and forth about money, jewelry, guns, and women. Every verse contains a healthy smattering of the four, the MCs free-associating endlessly over production from Wheezy, Murda Beatz, and Louie Bandz, among others. Rod Wave and Lil Wayne show up as guesting MCs, but Nobody Safe is wholly the Rich and YoungBoy show, where no one has more fun than the hosts.
