Another Great Album

Still one of the most original jazz combos on the scene. Their sound is always recognizable, innovative, and forward-thinking. Calling this band derivative is misplaced. Who sounded like The Bad Plus before The Bad Plus? I think Orrin Evans is a great fit for this combo, and I look forward to (hopefully) a long tenure-ship with him on the keys. I think he has a funkier, edgier sound. Less classical, more hip.
If you're undecided about buying this album, do it! You won't be disappointed.

Forget the Snobs and Pettiness

I’ll admit, like many, I was shocked to see Ethan go and a bit skeptical to see how Orrin would fill such big shoes, but after seeing how electrically these guys performed last night in my town, I was made a believer and immediately had to buy this album. Yes, it’s a new dimension to their sound, but I, for one, am excited to see how this chapter unfolds as they confidently ramble on into the future. Not disappointed in the least.

Badder Plus

Bigger & Badder sound with addition of Pianist Orrin Evans. Always liked this band- now I Love them.
