Don't imagine that a stripped-down setting will tame Florence Welch—if anything, it's given her even more room to stretch those pipes. Under a delicate mist of harp, supported by her core band and a 10-person choir, she blazes through the piano-banging "Only If for a Night" before lighting the house on fire with the hand-clapping crowd-pleaser "Dog Days Are Over.” But what's most impressive is when she cools down—just a bit—giving subdued renderings of "Never Let Me Go" and the soul classic "Try a Little Tenderness” a smoky elegance.
