Seduction isn’t the only thing on Lyrica Anderson’s mind on this bold EP, but it’s still in the top spot. “I got the water-water, baby, come splash,” she sings in “Smartwater,” one of many songs on Nasha Pearl that blur the boundaries between trap, hip-hop, and R&B to beguiling effect. Nor is there any doubting Anderson’s the one in control, whether she’s getting sultry on the electro-soul opener “Mean It” or trying some dancehall flavors with Jamien in “On Fire.”
